It’s time to look to Autumn and the beginning of the school year. Summer seems to vanish after Fourth of July, as we try to take advantage of what might remain of summer. Nonetheless it’s time for shopping for school supplies and anticipating a moderation of our more relaxed and even lazy lifestyle enjoyed in our summer days. Our Family of Faith Formation fits right into the anticipation of our children’s religion formation and education.

Our Rouge Family of Parishes, consisting of St. Alphonsus – St. Clement, St. Barbara, St. Kateri and St. Maria Goretti Parish, is planning the schedule of classes beginning in September. More specifics will be forthcoming. For now, know that St. Barbara has its own program and families are welcome to enquire about it and register. The other three parishes collaborate and share in one shared K -8 program which meets at St. Kateri on Monday evenings. The Monday program also has an adult component for persons seeking baptism or other sacraments.

Currently we are inviting volunteers from all three parishes and who have teaching and or administrative experience in religious education to consider offering their expertise and time to serve the young parishioners in our care. Training and mentoring will be offered to new and even a “little rusty” teacher with previous experience. Please spend a little time in prayer carefully considering how you can share with young people your Catholic Faith. To learn more please contact me at 313.336.3227 or email fr.tdk@comcast.net and we can talk. Practicing Catholics, that you might know from other parishes than our own three, are welcome to participate.

Enjoy Summer and the anticipation of a new season to come!
