Happy Autumn To All!

Just wanted to let you know that the 2025 liturgical year Sunday Missals have arrived.  The new liturgical year begins on December 1st, the First Sunday of Advent. The missal is a light weight pocket sized book that includes weekly Sunday Gospel readings, the Order of the Mass and other prayers. Many people find it helpful when following along with the Mass.

November is the month of All Saints and All Souls. The shop carries biographies of many saints & holy people including St. Kateri Tekakwitha, Carlos Acutis, Nicholas Black Elk, Thomas Merton, and others. If you can’t choose a saint to commemorate in November, we even have several “Lives of the Saints” books.

The shop also stocks outdoor cemetery candles…both solar and waxed. Other Memorial items such as books on grief, ornaments, wind chimes and pocket coins are also available.

Speaking of our popular chimes. Our angel and cardinal wind chimes are back in stock. They make great gifts!

Watch for our Christmas items to arrive mid-November. We have been doing our best to find items that will bring joy and a sense of God’s love to others. St. Nicholas hinted that he may even have a special gift for you to give to your young children and grandchildren. Stay tuned!

Thank you for your ongoing support. Our proceeds benefit the Parish and the Red Cloud School in South Dakota.

The St. Kateri Parish Book & Gift Shop offers a wide selection of sacramentals, cards, religious books, and spiritually themed gifts for all seasons and occasions. In honor of our patron, St. Kateri Tekakwitha, we also carry Native American crafts and books.

Our shop is staffed with volunteers who view their work as a ministry…offering ways to help others grow in their relationship to God. Volunteers are also members of a Prayer Circle.  We maintain a list of prayer requests from customers and ask that St. Kateri intercede on their behalf. (This prayer list is separate from the published Parish prayer requests.)

St Kateri Parish houses one of the only Catholic gift and book shops in the area.  If customers request an item not carried in the Shop, we are able to special order most items. For more information, feel free to contact Barb Cataldo (313-402-6890) or Pat Urban (313-359-0461).

The Shop is open before and after weekend Masses and located in the Gathering Space. During the Christmas and Lenten seasons, check the Parish website and/or bulletin for special hours. Proceeds from the Gift Shop go to our Parish and Native American ministries.

Stop in and check us out!  There is no charge for browsing, all are welcome!
