FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK By Fr. Terry Kerner
This weekend we begin the weeklong celebration of the gift of Eucharist. The centerpiece is of course, the viewing of the description of several individual miracles related to the Eucharist. The Vatican approved exhibition was compiled by young Carlo Acutis, who died at age fifteen and canonized last month. A normal teen and expert at computers, Carlo has been given the title: “First Millennial Saint”.
The schedule for the week includes liturgies, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as well as ample time for studying the many miracle narratives. Sunday, October 12th concludes the exhibit and offers an Italian Buffet from Noon — 2:00pm. A free will offering is encouraged for the meal with the proceeds benefiting the purchase of an Ultrasound Machine for the Lennon Center. Coincidentally, October 12th
marks the nineteenth anniversary of St. Carlo’s death in 2006. Please take time to honor this young saint and his example for teens and young adults today.
