FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK by Fr. Terry Kerner

This Monday from 8:30am — 4:30pm St. Kateri will be hosting the annual retreat for the school staffs of Divine Child. We expect 43 grade school and 60 high school staff members to spend the day with us.

Fr. Pat Brennan and Faith Offman from St. Paul of the Cross will be directing the sessions which will be spread out through our buildings. I share this information with you to let you know how versatile our parish buildings and campus can be. Besides being an active parish, sometimes St. Kateri truly can serve as a mini-retreat center. Pray for the success of Monday’s gathering. All teachers need and deserve our prayerful support.

Last Tuesday priests met at Sacred Heart Seminary to review the preliminary plans for the restructuring of the Archdiocese. This is after a previous day a few weeks ago when they began the very tentative plans. On Saturday, March 14th representatives of parishes will meet at several various locations to do a further review. In May or June there will be opportunities for all parishioners to hear and give input to the overall plans for their own parishes. This will involve hundreds of folks coming together and offering suggestions and opinions on what the Archdiocese will look like. Final recommendations ultimately are decided upon by the Archbishop and will be announced in the Fall. Please pray for God’s Spirit to be present and embraced in all these work sessions.

Have a good week and let us all support all our women and men in uniform.
