I want to thank everyone who is supporting this year’s CSA drive. As of this past Monday we are at 108% of our target. Despite having reached our goal and gone beyond we still could use everyone’s help. Our church air-conditioning is going the way of the dinosaurs and will need replacing this summer. The projected cost is $40,000, which we will take from our savings. Each year our CSA offers the opportunity for capital improvement or a major repair for the parish. This year the new air conditioning tops the list. Many thanks for all you are doing for St. Kateri!
So much is done for our parish by volunteers throughout the year. Last Sunday afternoon we enjoyed a Polish dinner with over seventy parishioners and friends. We want to thank Diane Powell, the chair of the dinner, along with her generous volunteers for all their efforts to make the day so enjoyable. The theme of the dinner was recognizing our parents with a loving gratitude for all they have been for us. I share the prayer that was offered before the dinner.
Prayer Of Gratitude For Parents
Dear Heavenly Father, how I thank and praise You for my parents who have been so faithful in loving and caring for me with such selflessness. I am so grateful that I was their child and that You saw fit for me to become part of their family.
I know that so often I have taken them for granted and have not been as helpful as I should, but their constant love and support throughout my life has become such a wonderful example of parenthood and I am so grateful for them both.
Draw close to them I pray, and surround them with Your loving arms. Bless them with both health and contentment and be to them a tower of strength, as they both are getting a little older.
I ask this in Jesus’ name,
