From the Pastor’s Deck by Fr. Terry Kerner

This weekend we have our newly ordained Deacon Chris Jaskowiec preaching at Mass. Chris was ordained last Saturday by Archbishop Vigneron at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. He has been preparing for his ordination under the supervision of Deacon Tom who celebrated his ninth anniversary of ordination on October third. Deacon Chris has said how much he enjoys St. Kateri parish and all the parishioners he came to known. He will be ministering as deacon at the Cathedral. I know he would appreciate your prayers!

Beginning on October 14th the west wing (organ side) of the church will be shut down for a few weeks. We have discovered the need to replace its ceiling because of damage over the years. The project involves the necessary asbestos abatement before a new ceiling is created. Our insurance covers the new ceiling, we pay for the abatement. For the next few weeks, we will be entering the sanctuary from a different direction. Be surprised!

I want to encourage membership in the Knights of Columbus for men eighteen and older. This hallowed fraternity for decades has served the American Church in important and significant ways. They are a definite sign and presence in or culture of a living faith that makes a difference. For information give the parish office a call and we will put you in touch with a Knight that can answer your questions. You might want to join them next Sunday at the 10am Mass at St. Alphonsus-St. Clement Church (Warren & Schaefer) for their Corporate Communion followed by an outdoor rosary. Member or not, you are welcome to participate.

On a final note, remember that we will be sponsoring on October 25th and 26th a clothing drive. The St. Vincent de Paul truck will be in the

Have a great week ahead and remember those Lions.
