From the Pastor’s Desk by Fr. Terry Kerner,

Summer is over. Another summer that has passed so quickly leaving its blessings on some days unappreciated. Despite the aggravating & disruptive storms, hopefully the season was enjoyable for you. Now onto the beginning of the school year.

This is the second year for the Family Faith Formation program begun last year. We invite parents from St. Kateri, St. Maria Goretti and St. Alphonsus – St. Clement parishes to enroll their children in the religious education classes sponsored by our Family of Parishes. All parents are ultimately responsible for raising their children in the Faith. Priests and teachers are here to help you with your privileged task of nurturing the faith and morals of your children. While the children are in session there is an opportunity for parents to learn and appreciate their faith more deeply. Deacon Tom leads instructions and discussions of our Catholic Faith for the adults in the program. His weekly session is open to grandparents as well as parents of the children. All classes and adult sessions are on MONDAYS, FROM 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM at ST. KATERI.

The Family Faith Formation calendar is as follows:

Mondays, 5:30 pm- 7:00 pm. September 11 & 18Orientation for TEACHERS & VOLUNTEER STAFF

Monday, 5:30 pm- 7:00 pm. September 25FAMILY MEETING for all PARENTS & STUDENTS

Monday, 5:30 pm- 7:00 pm. October 2FIRST CLASS for Students & Parents

To register your child(ren) call St. Kateri Office (313.336.3227) or email at: info@stkateridearborn.org for your reservation in the classes.

Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day!

A Prayer for Our Teachers

Dear God,

Thank you for the amazing teachers who have given their lives to serve our children.

As they prepare for the new year fill them with strength to lead, grace to guide and hope to thrive in their  classroom.

Bless them beyond measure for their willingness to pour into the next generation through education.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer for Our Students

Dear God,

Thank you for the gift of education in every form. As our children prepare to start a new year, may confidence be their foundation, may grace be their guide and may hope be their compass toward a bright future.

We pray they would have eyes to see the needs of those around them and a heart to love well. May they face each day with positivity knowing that no matter what comes their way, they don’t have to face it alone.

In Jesus’ name, Amen
