Speaking for Fr. Luke, Fr. Gary, Deacon Tom and the entire staff and volunteers of St. Kateri, I want to wish all of you and your families a most joyful and holy Christmas. The decorations and all the celebrations during Advent and the Christmas seasons all reflect a deep love for St. Kateri parish by very talented and committed folks. For visitors and new parishioners, I would like to invite you to experience the scores of Santa Bears in their “bear cave” located in the Gathering Space. Come and enjoy the fun and frolic of these little guys!
All parishioners and their families and friends are welcomed at St. Kateri Christmas Liturgies. The schedule of Masses: Christmas Eve Masses: 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Christmas Day 10:00 am. Come and celebrate together the joy and the promise Christmas brings.
All who responded to the Giving Tree this year are to be congratulated and acknowledged for their generosity. Besides some very beautiful gifts being given, a total of $3,060 in cash and gift cards have been donated. The cash and cards will be equally divided between St. Alphonsus – St. Clement Vincent de Paul and the St. Maria Goretti Food Pantry. Throughout the year our parish collaborates with the two outreach programs with food, funding and volunteers.
We often chuckle at weekend masses when it is announced that the Gift Shop is open. Besides convenient shopping for religious items, the Shop’s proceeds go to support the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Started over ten years ago the Gift Shop has been able to contribute a few thousand dollars to a great little Catholic school for Indian children. Take time to visit the Shop and discover some of the unique and beautiful gifts they offer for Christmas. Note, they also have opłatki (“oh-pwaht-kee”). From an early Christian tradition, they are wafers displaying beautiful Christmas images.
Know that all of you and your families are remembered at our Christmas masses.
