Inserted in the bulletin this weekend is an important letter from the archbishop explaining the next steps in the restructuring process. Please take the time to read it. Also, for your convenience, a video contain- ing the same message will be posted online. The key takeaway is that, from the feedback received from the listening sessions and information of the gathering with priests and key parish leaders, two possible pastorates will be put forward as options. This does not mean that only one pastorate was eliminated from the suggested previous pastorates. While some of the pastorates may remain the same, many have been changed and can look altogether different. New groupings of parishes, more or less priests for those pastorates, and even whether or not weekend Masses will be celebrated, can and have been changed. These new pastorates will be available to view by the end of October, if not sooner. There is more information in the letter, please again, read it over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why all the change again? Because they truly listened to our feedback and looked at more data from the parishes, not just money and numbers. Of course, those are certainly factors, but they also looked at ministries, parish grounds, outreaches, location of parishes, and so much more. It gives me a sense of peace knowing that this is being studied at every possible angle for the best outcome possible. Some people have mentioned that the archdiocese already has made its decisions, which is not true. If that were the case, then why go through all the work and effort?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What can we do now? Pray! I think sometimes we forget that in reality, the Holy Spirit is truly guiding this whole process. God has not abandoned His Church and in the end, God will have the final say. We don\u2019t have to be left feeling helpless or distressed, God is very much a part of this plan. Major change is coming, and in just six months, the final pastorates will be announced. Together let us put our hope in God and trust that it will all work out in the end. Let us also treat each other with kindness and respect, as we are all taking this news differently. Here is a real opportunity to be Christ to those around us. Not my will, but God\u2019s will be done. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
