With the election behind us we hopefully will be dealing with less disruptive and distasteful public discourse. Pray God people will settle down and accept the outcomes on all the ballots. We may not agree with the choices made but we have to admit that we have be part of the electoral process with millions of our fellow citizens. Like the outcomes or not, we have been entrusted with the freedom to bring them about change and our American experience. Many throughout our world have not been given such responsibility and freedom to choose leaders and policies. None of our freedoms is an accident. All have been won and protected by millions of citizens throughout the years. This Monday, November 11th<\/sup> we honor our Veterans. More than just a cursory gesture our appreciation can be much more. Phoning a veteran, sending a greeting, buying a cup of coffee could be just the beginning of an appreciated friendship. If you know a WW II veteran, treasure the acquaintance with the assurance that you have been privileged to experience a part of the “Greatest Generation”. Should you meet someone today who has just completed a tour of duty, utter a prayer of thanksgiving for their safe return home. As Catholic citizens we should never fail to give thanks to God for the freedom given us and for the men and women who protect it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This weekend is the last time to purchase tickets for our Harvest Dinner on Saturday, November 16th<\/sup>. There is only a limited number of them left and they can be purchased at the Gift Shop. The meal is a complete old fashion turkey dinner – something you can never get enough of!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
