You’re Invited – MAY 6, 2021

Join us for a FREE virtual event and fundraiser the evening of Thursday, May 6th, live streamed from Red Cloud School in South Dakota.

The event will be an interactive evening with opportunities to meet our amazing staff and community. Some of the topics we will discuss include the school, Native American Lakhota culture, the Pine Ridge reservation and local parish ministries.

Registration is required to receive the Zoom event link to participate. For more information and to register go to: https://www.redcloudschool.org/detroit

The event will be free and all are invited to attend virtually.

If you cannot view this event at home, there are plans underway for a group viewing in the St. Kateri Parish Hall. Stay tuned for more information.

As you may recall, our Parish (along with SS. Peter and Paul Jesuit Parish downtown) was in the process of planning a Mission Trip to the Holy Rosary Mission in South Dakota last year. Unfortunately, the COVID virus waylaid our plans.

And, as you also know, St. Kateri is always working for us and helping us “put things in or-der” (as in the meaning of her name, Tekakwitha).

So, instead of our parishioners traveling to Holy Rosary Mission and the Red Cloud School…the Red Cloud School is coming to us!
Save the date and join us for a virtual event and fundraiser the evening of Thursday, May 6th.

School and Pastoral Staff with introduce us to the Holy Rosary Mission and Red Cloud School. There will be breakout sessions on topics such as Lakhota Culture and Spirituality, the life of Servant of God Nicholas Black Elk, life on the Pine Ridge and Rose Bud Reservations.
